Special Program
Computer Engineering
NUS Computer Engineering is a multidisciplinary program that combines the
principles of computer science and electrical engineering. The program covers a wide range of
topics, from physical electronic hardware to software programming, with a focus on embedded systems,
circuit design, and low-level programming. Many courses involve group projects
where students use robotics to perform specific tasks, by developing the necessary electrical
circuitry and writing the code that enables the robots to complete these tasks.
Innovation & Design Program
The Innovation & Design Program (iDP) aims to cultivate an entrepreneurial
mindset among students, emphasizing innovation and problem-solving skills. Students learn to
design new products, services, and experiences that address real customer needs. Through hands-on, major
design projects with real-world impact, students collaborate across disciplines to tackle challenges in
areas like healthcare, mobility, sustainability and more. Equipped with valuable
skills in design thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship, students are prepared to tackle
complex societal issues and pursue technopreneurial ventures.
University Scholar's Program
The University Scholars Program (USP) is dedicated to nurturing independent and adaptable thinkers who
will positively impact the world. Through transformative learning environments in small seminars,
students explore diverse intellectual interests, transcending disciplinary
boundaries and embracing new perspectives. USP expands students' worldviews, empowering them
to challenge conventions and develop bold, actionable ideas. Anchored in pillars of curiosity, critical thinking, courage, and engagement, USP students acquire
the confidence and skills to address significant global challenges.
